DARIKWA RETURNS TO CLUB FOOTBALL AFTER 18 MONTHS ON SIDELINES - WIGAN

Darikwa (28) returned to club football after 18 months on the sidelines, he played in Wigan's 3-3 draw against Rochdale yesterday.

The Zimbabwe international recently signed for the English League One side from Nottingham Forest were he had suffered a bad knee injury, which had resulted in a  loan move to a North West side for a season.

Adrian Lam, Wigan's coach, named Tendayi Darikwa in the first eleven of the team and his appearance helped the team achieve the draw.

Darikwa's return to first team football would be of a great benefit to the Zimbabwe national soccer team, the Warriors, with the approaching AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) finals qualifiers against Zambia and Botswana, as he is the first choice fullback.
