The defending champions to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, FC Platinum are on position three on the log standings following a goalless draw played against ZPC Kariba on the weekend.

Lizwe Sweswe took over the team as head coach, while it was leading on the league’s log, from former Platinum coach, Norman Mapeza who had resigned from the post, and has since  failed to maintain dominance as it stands.

But he has promised Platinum’s fans hard work on the teams’ side to retain the ZPSL title.
“Of course that’s our target, to retain the title and its game on,” said Lizwe Sweswe speaking to H-Metro after playing ZPC Kariba on the weekend.

Platinum just like in last year's ZPSL season, are also playing in the CAF Champions League, and Sweswe believes taking part in both competitions strains the squad.

“Fans should keep their faith on the team and understand the situation we are in,” he said.

Sweswe said he will make player changes to Platinum's squad in the remaining fixtures of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League as he tries to deal with fatigue.

“Now I think we have rotated the players to give them enough rest, so I think we manage them well.

“One point in the bag, the boys did well especially looking at the congested fixture, what’s important is to manage them, in terms of recovery and good planning of training and games at the same time,” he said. Source: H-Metro

Meanwhile, former FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was today unveiled as Chippa United (South Africa's ABSA Premiership) head coach.
