I'm ready to make Zimbabwe proud - Darikwa tells Nottingham Forest - Afcon 2019

Zimbabwe Warriors right-back Tendai Darikwa in an interview with,Nottingham Forest club media, said that he is ready to make Zimbabwe proud at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2019, and it is an honour to represent his country at such a tournament.

Tendai Darikwa who is the first XI full-back for Nottingham Forest which is in England's Championship League, is expected to be named in Zimbabwe Warriors coach, Sunday Marimo's final 23-Men-Squad for Afcon, and also to play a role in the team.

Speaking on the interview, Darikwa said;

"It’s a fantastic honour for me to be representing my country at a tournament such as the African Cup of Nations.

"It means competing against the best players in Africa which will be a tough test but I’m ready to step up to the challenge and make my country proud."

Darikwa also said that Warriors will have to concentrate, and stick to their game plan for success at Afcon.

"Coming up against the likes of Mohamed Salah will be a great test for us however they have a team full of talented players so we must be prepared in all areas of the pitch." Pindula.

"We have to concentrate on our ourselves and stick to our game plan, if we are able to do that then there is no reason why we can’t be successful."

Zimbabwe is drawn in Afcon's Group B which also includes, Uganda, tournament hosts Egypt, and the DRC.

The Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2019 starts on (21 June and ends on 19 July).
