News - Afcon 2019 Egypt Sets Aside 1000 Buses For Fans

A report says that the Egyptian government has set aside 1000 buses to transport fans to stadiums in Cairo, Qalyubia, and Giza during the Africa Cup of Nations in June (2019).

The Egyptian government has also reportedly formed committees that are supposed to inspect the preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament for Cairo, Ismaila Alexandria, and Suez.

GPS devices are reportedly included in the buses in order to show routes and traffic from major bus stations to the stadiums.

The ministry according to the report has been monitoring the situation of Afcon's projects, establishments, and plan of transporting people to the stadiums, including making public toilets available at the nearby stadiums.

The Egyptian government is also reportedly going to establish exhibitions near 'stadium' main gates in Cairo and al-Salam in order to promote hand-made crafts on ancient Egyptian heritage.

Egypt is in the midst of organising the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 which it host for the 5th time since the tournament started, the other times Egypt hosted the tournament was in the years 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006.
