Mushowani Stars FC earn first ever league point after FC Platinum stalemate


Norman Mapeza coached, FC Platinum today failed to make three out three wins since the start of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League in March.

FC Platinum were held to a 2 - 2 draw by Premier Soccer League new side, Mushowani Stars FC, who went into the game carrying two consecutive loses from their first two matches of the season and on zero league points.

Both sides played well in the game, and Mushowani Stars FC managed to get the first goal scoring opportunity which hit the post in the 24th minute, but it was FC Platinum which scored first in the game through a grounder by Elvis Moyo in the 39th minute.

However, Mushowani's Katema, scored a penalty in 44th minute after FC Platinum's Gift Bello handled the ball in the penalty area.

The next goals which were the closing ones were scored in the 66th and the 67th minute, Mushowani Stars FC scoring first through Blessing Phiri, then FC Platinum acting quickly to restore parity in scoreline through Never Tigere.

The result means FC Platinum are on 7 league points, and 2 points behind log leaders Chicken Inn FC who are on 9 points. Mushowani FC are now on 1 league point after three matches.
