News: What you need to know about the Charity Cup Challenge to be played today, Dynamos FC vs Caps United FC


Dynamos FC and Caps United FC will today play in their biggest pre-season match challenge in a 'Cup' event.

The two clubs were invited to play in the Charity Challenge Cup, an event which is meant to raise funds for donations to the less privileged or disadvantaged groups and individuals.

The Match will be played today, (10, August, 2019), at Rufaro Stadium in Mbare, Harare.

Winners of the competition will be awarded with a 'Charity' trophy, and $20 000. The losing team will be awarded $15 000.

Gate Entry charges for the Charity Cup Challenge are:

$5 for the Rest of the Ground
$10 for the VIP
$30 for the VVIP.

Match Kick Off Time is 15:00 (Zimbabwean Time).

The Charity Challenge Cup was organised by Passion Events.

Dynamos FC and Caps United FC's sides will feature a lot of new players as the clubs went through almost squad overhauls due to loss players to other clubs and it is a chance for the two coaches, Lloyd Chigowe (Dynamos), and Lloyd Chitembwe (Caps United FC), to test their 'new' sides before the Zimbabwe Premier League Soccer 2019 Kicks of on 30 March.

Organisers of the Charity Cup Challenge, Passions Events, pleaded with fans to come in their numbers and also said this on the event;

“We have selected Dynamos and CAPS United to participate in the Charity Challenge Cup because they are established brands with a huge following.

“Our desire is to fundraise money that will be donated to specific selected less privileged or disadvantaged groups and individuals.

“Among the groups to be assisted depending on resources to be generated are orphanages and vulnerable members of the community.

“The Charity Cup is being organised for the first time and with the support of all our valuable partners including the media, we want it to be successful and to have it as an annual pre-season event.”
