News: Highlanders FC players - we'll not return to work until our bank accounts indicate money

The player-strike over unpaid salaries at Highlanders FC  is yet to end, yesterday the players again, refused to train for the third day in a row.

Highlanders FC players are demanding that their salaries be paid before the training, in preparation for the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League 2019 season, can resume.

Nhlanhla Dube, Highlanders FC's Chief Executive Officer, had earlier issued a statement that the players were given a week to rest, “so that their muscles recover”. However, players denied the notion.

A Highlanders FC player who spoke to the The ChronicleZW said:

"Like we said, until we are paid what is due to us, we will not attend any training session. The club must find the money and give us because the situation where we stay is now out of hand and we can’t bear it any more.

"It’s not true that we were given time off; we are on strike and have vowed not to return until our bank accounts indicate that money has been deposited." Pindula News.
