News: Chelsea FC-s David Luiz Calls For Cyclone Idai Prayers


Chelsea FC's defender David Luiz asked on his Official Facebook Account asked for people to pray for nations affected by Cyclone Idai.

Cyclone Idai is an intense Tropical-Cyclone and it has had effects of one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere as a whole.

David Luiz's Message On Official Facebook Account:

"Pray for Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, who were struck by a cyclone that left hundreds dead this week"

The  storm damaged a lot of things in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Mozambique and reportedly left 700 people dead and hundreds more missing.

Number of homesteads destroyed by Cyclone Idai in Chimanimani (8,000), Mutare (4,000), Chipinge (3,000) and Buhera (1,000), according to a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Relief Web.

Cyclone Idai has been compared, in terms of the death toll, to 1892's Mauritius cyclone, the 1903's French Polynesia cyclone, the 1927's Madagascar cyclone, and Cyclone Leon–Eline in 2000's.

Cyclone Idai, in Zimbabwe, as reported by the United Nations Migration Agency, left at least 259 people dead, and with a number 217 people missing.

In Zimbabwe, individuals and groups of people have organised different forms of help, mainly donations, for relief to the areas affected by Cyclone Idai, and yet a lot more still needs to be done about the circumstances.

David Luiz's influence in the world of football helps a lot in turning people's attention to the natural disaster, and help in amassing the much needed different kinds of support and prayer, from people in different parts of the world, in the face of stern effects of Cyclone Idai.
