News: Chicken Inn FC and FC Platinum in a battle after player possibly lied of employment status

Chicken Inn and FC Platinum are reportedly set to be in a legal battle over the signing of  midfielder Perfect Chikwende.

Perfect Chikwende signed for the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions of 2018, FC Platinum, on 1 January 2019, and it has recently emerged that the midfielder is still contracted to Chicken Inn FC. Perfect Chikwende's contract at Chicken Inn FC ends in December 2020, according to NewsDay.

A reputable source at Chicken Inn FC spoke to the local sports news media criticising FC Platinum for under-researching before signing a player and making use of improper channels to sign Perfect Chikwende,

“Perfect Chikwende signed a two-year contract with Chicken Inn. It came as a surprise that he had been signed by FC Platinum as well.

“It’s sad that the two clubs also had a similar problem with Lawrence Mhlanga.

“They (FC Platinum) might have been deceived by the player that he is a free agent when he is not, but it is not good for a big institution like them not to do enough research before signing on a player.”

Meanwhile, NewsDay confirmed they have Perfect Chikwende's Chicken Inn FC valid contract, and the clubs will have to reach a favourable agreement before the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League 2019 season starts to avoid disturbances.

Lawrence Mhlanga, Francis Tizayi, and Hardlife Murindi are some of the players that have been fought for by FC Platinum & Chicken Inn FC in a similar battle.
