Ngezi Platinum Stars Sign Former Highlanders Coach Erol Akbay on a 2 Year Head Coach Deal

Ngezi Platinum Stars have recalled Ex-Highlanders coach Erol Akbay to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League as head coach. The Miners signed Akbay on a two year deal which will expire at the end of 2020. Ngezi announced Akbay's arrival at their 2018 team awards ceremony yesterday, although the club had dismissed contact with the coach two days earlier, saying any links were rumours.

Ngezi Platinum have been operating under interim coach Cliton Kadurira after dismissing former substantive coach Tonderayi Ndiraya back in October when he picked 5/15 points in his last 5 matches - when he was expected to keep up in the championship race with current ZPSL title holders FC Platinum. Ndiraya was dismissed with only 5 matches remaining in the season, and on position two on the ZPSL log.

As it seems, obviously, Akbay is set to meet Ngezi Platinum Stars likely objective of winning the 2019 championship in the face of reorganising top sides in the ZPSL like Dynamos FC, Caps United FC, and Highlanders FC, and the ever rising stars FC Platinum who have dominated the ZPSL in the past 2 seasons.

Erol Akbay's local agent Denford Mutashu promised in his interview with the Herald to give his comprehensive statement of the deal today.
