Cameroon Agrees To Host Afcon 2021, Ivory Coast Still Contesting

Cameroon has accepted to host Cafs' Africa Cup of Nations in 2021. An official letter posted on  Caf's official website which allegedly came from Cameroon could confirm, in a statement the letter said. "signed by the Cameroonian Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya."

However, Caf is yet to communicate it's decision on letting Cameroon host the tournament, so Ivory Coast which had been named as 2021 hosts earlier on in 2014 remain in the picture, but from the look of things, Caf will hand Cameroon the hosting rights following up on their offer to allow the country to host the tournament in 2021 after stripping the nation of hosting rights to the 2019 edition citing lack of progress in facilitation and 'security' with just six months remaining ahead of the kick off date.

Controversy is still in the picture, as Ivory Coast are reportedly still going ahead with their preparations for hosting the tournament in 2021, the Cote D’Ivoire Football Federation (FFF) has spoken publicly that, the country’s preparations to host the tournament were on course. And, Ivory Coast have  the matter before the Court of Arbitration and Sports (TAS)  which is expected to pass a ruling on it's complaint on the rightful host of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021.

Caf will announce it's final decision for the hosting of the 2021 tournament in due course.
