Zim Soccer Pundits meet in Harare to select 2018-Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premiership Players of the Year. Five Players Disqualified


Experts on local football will today meet in Harare to vote for the best XI of the  2018 Castle Lager Premiership season.

The team to make selections comprises of local Sports journalists, captains from teams in the ZCLPSL and club coaches. The categories under selection are ZPSL -XI best players, referee, coach and rookie of the year.

Votes will also be placed on the categories of ZPSL Player of the Year (Rodwell Chinyengetere FC Platinum-2018 top goalscorer received the award in 2017), and second, and the selections will be announced at a banquet in December.

Players from the league likely to make ZPSLs' best 11 according to analysts include:

FC Platinums': Centreback Kelvin Moyo and Edwin Madhanhanga

Chicken Inn: Innocent Muchaneka and Obrey Chirinda

Highlanders: Gabriel Nyoni and goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda.

Harare City: Tatenda Tumba, Herentals: Wilmore Chimbetu and Richard Hachiro. 

Black Rhinos: Donald Mudadi

CAPS United: Joel Ngodzo.

Triangle’s: Phineas Bhamisi and Nhamo Lameck

Ngezi Platinum Stars’:  Godknows Murwira, Frank Makarati and Michael Charamba.

ZPC Kariba: David Temwanjera.

In the Rookie of the Year category,Tinotenda Benza (17), who scored three goals and assisted goalscores seven times for Herentals has been tipped to win the award.

Benza's major opponents are likely to be Chiunye Tinotenda (CAPS United), and Delic Murimba of (Triangle Utd).

There are players from clubs in the ZPSL who have been marked ineligible for the awards due to reasons of indiscipline. The list of five is as follows:

Liberty Chakoroma (Ngezi Platinum: Assult on match official in a match vs Herentals)

Dynamos: (Indiscipline - Internal club issues)
